Every year in beautiful Pebble Beach, California, the PGA Tour holds the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. Currently, the tournament alternates between the Pebble Beach Golf Links, Spyglass Hill Golf Course, and Monterey Peninsula Country Club for its annual February staging. That will be held January 30th through February 5th, 2023.
The events original name was after Bing Crosby who I remember staring in “White Christmas.” Bing Crosby National Pro-Amateur, or Crosby Clambake, is the event’s original name. The Crosby family continued to host the tournament for another eight years after Crosby’s death in 1977.
After 1985, the Crosby name was no longer used, and AT&T took over as the event’s primary sponsor. The Monterey Peninsula Foundation is responsible for putting it all together. One of the things I love about the tournament every year is the donations it provides to nonprofit organizations through Monterey County and the economic boost.
